Upcycling Project

In autumn 2020, the partner organization Westwind-hamburg.de came up with a great suggestion.

“We have a lot of used bicycle inner tubes in our workshop. We washed them and now we’re sending you some and see what you can do with them.”

That was the step to a new upcycling project by NAOMI.

After we tamed the stubborn material, we created cell phone shoulder bags, toiletry bags, wallets and various small bags in special designs, spiced up with colored accessories and zero-waste fabrics.

The NAOMI Textile Workshop has been offering refugee women and men a safe, secure and friendly workspace since 2016.

In Greece there is a lack of integration programs and support for entry into the labor market. NAOMI is a ray of hope for employees in dark times.
